  • Aged FBN strain (naturally occurring, gradual cognitive decline without concurrent motor decline)
  • Amyloid injection-induced neurodegeneration in hippocampus

Mouse

  • Tg 2576 (over-expressing human A-beta PP with Swedish mutation)
  • FRAXAD (Tg 2576 with Fmr-1-/-, over-expressing hAbPP with Swedish mutation in an fmr-1-/- background)
  • Double KO mice lacking both FMRP and APP

Dog (aged)

  • Progressive age-related decline in memory, complex learning, activity, and social interaction tests
  • Extent of cognitive decline correlated with amyloid plaque load and cortical atrophy
